What we've been up to...
Spring Term 2015 - this term we've been finding out about REAL LIFE SUPERHEROES!
Friday 16th January
We were visited by Andrew; he is a Policeman. He showed us his walkie talkie and his uniform.
We then went outside and saw his car. He put on the lights and the siren. He showed us the signs they use, the cones, the torch, the speed camera and the breathalyser.
We learnt that the police will help us if we get lost.
Policemen and policewomen might, walkabout, drive a car, ride a motorbike, ride a bicycle or horse and some fly in the helicopter.

Tuesday 20th January
Steve from Canine Partners came to visit us with a dog called Fiona. He showed us how Fiona can touch a button to open a door or help someone cross the road safely at a crossing. Fiona will be helping someone in a wheelchair. Steve took all the stamps we had collected and will come back when he has a new puppy to train. |
Wednesday 21st January
Luke came to visit us. Luke is a Paramedic and he brought his ambulance to show us. Hannah had her heart checked, and then Luke showed us the sharp needles they use to help make people better. We then went to the front of the ambulance and Luke put on the lights and the siren. Charlie said it was louder than the Police one. |
Thursday 12th February
We had a visit from Maria and Ellie from the Fire and Rescue Service. They shared with us all the things that fire fighters do. They brought with them fire fighter outfits for us to dress up in and a game of hot or cold and a game of snap. Maria then read us a story called Frances Firefly; we took the story home with us. |
